The AI company famous for turning text into images — from cat portraits to medical-grade ultrasound scans — has officially entered the astrology market. They acquired the personalized horoscope app Co-Star. Bloomberg broke the news. The deal reportedly closed in spring, though the financial terms remain under wraps.

Why Midjourney Bought Co-Star
Co-Star is a free app. It gives you daily horoscopes. It checks compatibility with friends.

Banu Guler, Co-Star’s founder, will stay in charge of her app. But she also gets a new title at Midjourney: Chief Design Officer.
Holz told Bloomberg that Guler and her team are there to build Midjourney’s first standalone apps. Right now, you generate images on Discord or via a web interface. It’s functional. It’s also messy for some users.
Guler’s team will help build dedicated apps, starting with image generation. Then, apparently, the stars.
