It’s a rough grid today. You probably know this by now if you’ve been staring at the board longer than usual. Some words here are mean.
Today’s theme is staying alive.
Think castaways. Think desert island. Think what you’d grab before the waves took everything.
Tarp goes somewhere near the edge. Don’t sleep on Flint either.
The Shovel is heavy duty. The Hatchet follows suit. Then there is the Paracord —six letters of pure survivalist joy. And finally the Machete.
When you get them all the board fills out. Usually. I used to think there were exactly eight theme answers but the number varies. Who knew.
A few extra letters to get started: Sure, Slip, Mild, Pate.
Those aren’t the theme answers. They just unlock the hints. Find any three words of four plus letters and the game hands you a clue. I used List, Mate, Slips. Anything works really. Just find something.
